Try our Eat Local menu this month!
Northfield’s Just Food Coop has issued an Eat Local Challenge during August and September — and Butler’s Steak & Ale is meeting it! We’re giving you the opportunity to dine out and “Eat Local”.
The Eat Local Challenge runs from August 17 through September 19th. Chapati, Pan Pan Cafe and The Contented Cow will also have some local specialties on their menus during through mid-September. If the response is what we hope it will be, we may keep the items on the menus afterwards.
Here’s are some of our “Eat Local” menu items for the month:
- Homemade Local Vegetable Soup
- Local Grass-fed 8 oz. Sirloin
- Local Grass-fed Beef Burger with Local Vegetables
- Local Grass-fed Cheese Burger (with Local Cheese) with Local Vegetables
- Local Free-range Chicken with Local Vegetables
- Roasted Local Vegetables with Local Cheese and a Dinner Rol
- Local Ice Cream with Local Berries
- Local Berry Crisp
And we always have Local Beer and Local Vodka at the bar. Just ask for details!
One of our vegetable suppliers for 1001 Solutions (Butler’s Steak & Ale, Chapati, Pan Pan Cafe and The Contented Cow) is the SEEDS Farm, which was featured as a front page story of the Northfield News. We also use Grisim’s sweet corn.
We’ll be featuring Thousand Hills Cattle Co. grass fed ground beef for burgers, and a 10 oz. sirloin steak! There have been great articles on the benefits of grass-fed beef can be found in the Minneapolis StarTrivune and on EatWild.com and
And there will be chickens from Finca Mirasol — which works with organizations such as the Rural Enterprise Center and the Hillside Farmers Cooperative Inc..
So come on in and join us for lunch or dinner as we all try to “Eat Local”!
